Support Others Through Grief – Become a Grief Support Volunteer
Grief can be overwhelming, but having someone to listen and offer support can make all the difference. Hospice Georgina is looking for compassionate Grief Support Volunteers to provide comfort and companionship to those navigating loss.
How You Can Help
- Offer emotional support to individuals coping with grief.
- Provide a listening ear and compassionate presence during difficult times.
- Assist in planning community memorial services and tributes, such as maintaining the labyrinth and memory tree at the Georgina Civic Centre.
- Connect with clients through weekly visits, either in person or by phone, based on their preferences.
What’s Required?
- Training – HPCO Online Training and bereavement skills training.
- Time Commitment – 1-2 hours per week (varies by client), plus monthly volunteer meetings.
This is a meaningful opportunity to help others heal while being part of a supportive volunteer team.
