ESL Instructor for Russian-Speaking Seniors

Start Date: September 1st
Schedule: 1-hour online class held weekly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, between 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM (exact time flexible)
Location: Online via Zoom
Commitment: 1–2 volunteers (alternating weeks possible)

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor to lead weekly online classes for a small group of Russian-speaking senior newcomers who already have a basic understanding of English.

As a volunteer instructor, you will:

  • Confidently lead interactive Zoom sessions
  • Facilitate meaningful conversations to build fluency
  • Present new material clearly and accessibly
  • Assign light weekly homework to reinforce learning

While ESL certification is a plus, it is not required—we welcome volunteers with strong communication skills and a passion for teaching.

Who You’ll Be Teaching:
A group of 10–12 seniors who are eager to improve their English in a supportive, friendly environment. Your guidance will help them gain confidence and better integrate into their new community.

Ideal Volunteer(s):

  • Comfortable using Zoom and teaching online
  • Patient, encouraging, and culturally sensitive
  • Able to commit to a weekly or bi-weekly schedule
