Yarn Bombing Volunteers: Join our Creators Crew!

Be part of our Yarn Bombing Crew and help us weave connections across the province and around the world this June!

Throughout June, large trees, fronts of buildings, fences, and lampposts in community spaces across Canada and around the world will be decorated with vibrant knit and crochet squares – a form of street art, known as yarn bombing – to raise awareness during National Deafblind Awareness Month.

We need you to get out your yarn and create colourful pieces for our Yarn Bombing displays!

Our yarn bombing installations are made of hand-crafted pieces created by people supported by DeafBlind Ontario Services, intervenors, friends and family, local knitting clubs, and community members from across the province.

Whether you’re an experienced crafter or ready to try for the first time, we need you to “Commit to Create” and be part of our local displays.

Even if you’ve never knit or crocheted before, there are so many things you can make with yarn to add to our displays! Complete our Commit to Create form (click here) and we’ll send you our Yarn Bombing Guide with lots of ideas to get you started!

You don’t have to knit to participate! You can also:

  • Help us join pieces together to create our displays
  • Volunteer to help set up displays in your community
  • Share our posts on social media to help us reach other crafters

If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, complete our Commit to Create form and let us know! A member of our team will be in touch with more details.
