Volunteer Food Delivery Driver – Richmond Hill

Routes is a York Region community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping people get to where they need to go since 1989. We improve access to basic needs and special destinations, enhance community engagement, and improve social connections through safe, affordable, compassionate, and timely transportation, food delivery, and phone calls. We help those who are experiencing social, physical, mental, and financial limitations, and are there in times of need for members of our community. With our network of partners, clients, drivers, and callers, we help to create a resilient future for our community!

Position Summary

As a volunteer delivery driver, you will bring food bank deliveries, community take-out meals, and groceries to community members who are isolated, immunocompromised, and/or cannot leave their homes for a variety of reasons.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up orders from food pantries and deliver them to community members
  • Call residents to inform them of the delivery
  • Respect confidentiality

Requirements

  • A current, valid “G” driver’s license
  • Signed confidentiality form
  • Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
