Outreach, Events and Engagement Volunteer
Are you outgoing? Do you enjoy attending community events and talking to people?
Women’s Centre of York Region is looking for fun, creative and outgoing people to join our outreach and engagement team!
Outreach and Engagement Volunteers will hep WCYR at community events, fairs, and fundraisers.
You will:
- Distribute flyers, brochures and materials
- Assist in setting up and staffing tables at community events, fairs or festivals to promote programs
- Assist in the planning of WCYR fundraisers including decorations, promotions and logistics
- Volunteer at WCYR fundraisers and events
- Participate in WCYR event planning committee
- Build positive relationships with community members
- Identify and solicit sponsors and donors to support the fundraising initiatives
Requirement: 5-10 hours per month (some months will be less and some months more, depending on upcoming events)
Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Creativity and willing to help with party and event planning
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and willing to attend community events
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
What’s in it for you:
As an outreach volunteer, WCYR will pay entrance fees to community events and fairs where you’ll be staffing and setting up tables

You will be contributing to a meaningful organization supporting community members
Students are eligible for volunteer hours towards their graduation requirements
