We thank you for your patience and understanding and encourage you to explore the resources on the right of this page to #spreadjoynotgerms!

Calling the Community to #spreadjoynotgerms

Neighbourhood Network is happy to share some easy ways for you to safely support your community during these challenging times. Read below to find out what you can do to help!
  1. Draw Pictures for Seniors

Seniors alone in their homes and retirement residents are suffering from extreme loneliness as a result of social isolation. Draw a picture or create some homemade artwork to send to a senior in need! When your masterpiece is complete, snap a photo or scan it and email it to [email protected] .

  2. Call a Senior

For those in isolation, a phone call can go a long way! Call 1-877-452-4287 to sign up to receive CHATS – Community & Home Assistance to Seniors Telephone Reassurance program today.

  3. Deliver Groceries and Medicine

Volunteers who are able to deliver groceries and medicine to seniors and other high risk individuals in our communities are encouraged to connect with Routes Connecting Communities at 905-722-4616 or [email protected].

  4. Donate Goods and Funds

Charities and non-profits in our communities are also on the front-lines providing important services to those in need and at risk in our communities. We continue to be in contact with our registered partners, and are updating their list of urgently needed donations on a daily basis. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see these needs.

  5. Donate Blood

There is an extreme blood donor shortage at this time. It is safe to donate blood during the COVID-19 crisis and critical to the care of patients. Click here to find out how you can donate in your community!

  6. Support Local Businesses

Click the links below to learn more from our partners at the Chambers of Commerce about how you can support local businesses during this time:

COVID-19 Update

For volunteer opportunities/community events of charitable partners promoted on Neighbourhood Network website:

Attending a volunteer opportunity/community event may place you in close proximity to others that could increase the risk that you contract COVID-19. You acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and understand the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at a volunteer opportunity/community event.

By attending a volunteer opportunity/community event, you voluntarily agree, on behalf of yourself, your heirs, personal representatives and/or assigns, and any minor child you may enroll to: (a) assume all of the foregoing risk and accept sole responsibility for, and waive any claims for injury, illness, damage, loss, liability or expense, of any kind (including, but not limited to, personal/bodily injury, disability, and death) that may occur in connection with attendance of a volunteer opportunity/community event; and (b) release, indemnify and discharge Neighbourhood Network and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all claims or causes of action which you may have arising out of or relating thereto, based on the actions, omissions or negligence of the Releasees, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during or after attending a volunteer opportunity/community event.
