Oasis Day Program provides a safe environment for social interaction and activities for clients living with a life threatening illness and allows for valuable respite time for caregivers. Volunteers need to have a big heart, be a good listener and be willing to participate in ongoing training as you will be interacting with clients throughout the program.
Core Concepts 1 palliative training required ($35) prior to working with clients.

28 years of Hope and Healing as a community hospice Doane House Hospice (DHH) has been serving the communities of North Aurora, Newmarket, Bradford and East Gwillimbury. Our volunteers are the cornerstone of the organisation and we appreciate every one of them. DHH is a community hospice, we are a volunteer based charity that provides free services and programs for those coping with life-threatening illnesses, to care givers looking after a loved one, and those who are bereaved. These services can include: Wellness classes, In-Home visiting, the Oasis Day Program, Complimentary Therapies, Caregiver Support Groups, Art Therapy for children & adults and Bereavement Support. www.doanehospice.org. In the fall of 2017 we welcome the Margaret Bahen Residential Hospice, with the two hospices partnering we will now offer continuum of care for the community.
