Women's Support Network
The Women's Support Network (WSN) is York Region's only sexual violence crisis centre, established in 1992. We are dedicated to providing free, non-judgmental and confidential services to anyone who has experienced any form of sexual violence at some point in their lifetime. As a Crisis Line Volunteer, you will:
- Provide support on the crisis line using a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive approach to those who are currently experiencing or have experienced abuse and/ or sexual violence, as well as support persons or family members of survivors impacted by violence.
- Training on:
o Human trafficking
o Supportive listening
o Safety planning
o Crisis intervention
o Trauma neurobiology
- Maintain confidentiality of callers
- Access to a telephone that receives incoming calls is required
-Minimum one year commitment

Candidates must be available for the three-day training program, held from June 8th-10th, 9am-5pm daily. All candidates are interviewed prior to acceptance into training. Interviews will begin May 23rd, 2018.
