Alzheimer Society of York Region - Artwell Project
Alzheimer's Society of York Region
Senior Volunteers Needed!
For a second time, we are pleased to be partnering with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection to bring the experience of art to persons living with dementia. The Artwell Project sessions will take place at the AS YORK D.A.Y Centres (Aurora, Thornhill and Stouffville) starting April 16. The program is designed to engage seniors in the community through volunteering, mentoring others and supporting social participation and inclusion for those with Alzheimers and other dementias by volunteering with the Artwell Project.
The program will run in small groups of 6 DAY Program clients for approximately 3 hours per session. The Alzheimer Society is looking for volunteers who can assist clients one on one throughout the workshop. Each workshop will offer a different experience for the client. Volunteers must be available for all 6 sessions of the work shop and attend the Volunteer Orientation on April 15th at The McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
