Volunteer Driver - Wheels of Hope Transportation Program

Description

Sometimes simply getting to treatment can be difficult. If a client cannot afford the cost of travel, if they are not physically well enough to use public transportation or if they are uncomfortable facing travel alone, we have the Wheels of Hope Transportation Program.

Patients registered with our Wheels of Hope transportation service will be picked up and taken to their appointment by a volunteer driver. This is a shared-ride program that not only provides transportation but also offers a friendly, supportive environment along the way

Time Commitment:
Flexible scheduling
On average, one round trip(s) per week

Requirements & Qualifications:

Valid G drivers licence with 3 or fewer demerit points
Minimum of $1 million third party liability insurance on vehicle
Completion of a criminal reference check
Enjoy Driving
Access to a well-maintained 100% smoke-free vehicle
Friendly, compassionate and sensitive to issues facing people living with cancer
