Congratulations to Our 2025 Recipients!
About the Program
Neighbourhood Network is excited to announce the ten charitable beneficiaries for this year’s Magna Community Fund, whose programs and services will collectively help over 3,000 residents across York Region!
Alongside a donation from Magna, these ten beneficiaries will receive ongoing promotional opportunities at the Aurora Concerts in the Park and Aurora’s Ribfest.

Blue Door’s vision is a community where everyone can access dignified housing. As the largest emergency housing provider within York Region, Blue Door drives innovative housing, health, and employment solutions to prevent and end homelessness.
Proceeds from the Magna Community Fund will go towards supporting Blue Door’s Construct, a skilled trades training initiative aimed at helping vulnerable individuals escape poverty and homelessness by building meaningful, well-paying careers in the construction trades.
Community Living Central York (CLCY) fosters inclusion and supports individuals with diverse abilities and their families across York Region. Their mission is to empower these individuals to live full, meaningful lives as active community members.
CLCY will use Magna Community Fund proceeds to launch Enriching Lives: A Program for Seniors with Diverse Abilities, designed to reduce social isolation and promote physical well-being through tailored, engaging activities that help participants stay connected and thrive.
Cornerstone to Recovery supports individuals and families affected by addiction and mental health challenges. Operated by people in recovery, it offers accessible, community-based programs, including residential and day treatment, counselling, and wellness services.
The Magna Community Fund will support their 5-Week Day Recovery Program, designed for individuals unable to access residential treatment. The program provides structure, life skills, and community connection, making recovery accessible, sustainable, and empowering at every stage.
Girls Inc. of York Region allows girls to grow at their own pace, free from distractions and comparisons. Serving over 2,400 girls and their families annually, their programs build leadership, financial literacy, STEAM interest, athletic skills, and self-reliance, while also offering mental health services, parent counselling, and food support.
Magna Community Fund proceeds will help facilitate their programs, purchase educational supplies, and provide skill-building opportunities through activities like climbing, horseback riding, hiking, and nature outings.
Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers supports prenatal and parenting youth across York Region, ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive. Each year, their free programs and educational services help over 300 young mothers build brighter futures for themselves and their children.
The Magna Community Fund will support their Living & Learning Together in the Kitchen – Food Insecurity Program, which provides essential groceries, baby supplies, and hygiene items to young families.
Salvation Army Central York Region offers a wide range of community services, including food and clothing support, mental health and recovery programs, and youth and seniors’ programming.
Proceeds from the Magna Community Fund will support their growing mental health, recovery, and food initiatives, reaching over 500 individuals. This includes expanding their youth-focused counselling and trauma-informed group support, purchasing healthy supplies for their food pantry, and a new monthly community meal program.
Shine Through the Rain Foundation supports low-income individuals and families affected by life-threatening illness, providing guidance and financial assistance. Their services allow their clients to stay in their homes, focus on recovery, and access the care they need without delay.

The ABLE Network is a community-based, registered charity in York Region that offers inclusive work and recreation opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants are supported through five core programs focused on employment, travel and safety training, recreation, continuing education, and community service.
Proceeds from the Magna Community Fund will help cover the cost of gym memberships and support the delivery of nutrition training for participants, promoting healthier, more active lifestyles.
Women’s Support Network of York Region (WSN) is dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence through free, confidential, and non-judgmental services to individuals of all identities. This includes a 24-hour crisis line, community workshops, individual counselling, prevention education, text and chat support, and youth-specific programs.
They will use the Magna Community Fund to expand youth counselling services, launch a psychoeducational group for caregivers and support people of survivors, and strengthen community engagement efforts through increased outreach.
Your Support Services Network (YSSN) empowers individuals of all ages facing mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, or crises by connecting them with the supports they need. In partnership with Anishnabeg Outreach, they piloted AO Nest, a virtual program rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing that builds life skills, resilience, and emotional well-being.
Magna Community Fund proceeds will be used to expand AO Nest’s reach by enhancing its virtual learning modules, making them more accessible to Indigenous peoples across York Region.
Autism Ontario – Central East Region supports thousands of autistic individuals and their families across York Region. They provide information, support research, and implement programs for the autism community with a mission of creating a supportive and inclusive Ontario for autism.
The Magna Community Fund will help expand their new program, Longo’s Cooking Classes, and enhance their existing social programs for adults.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Peel York’s mission is to enable lifechanging mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. They offer 15 core programs for over 1,500 children and youth between the ages of 6 and 17 years old, both one-to-one and in school and community groups.
The Magna Community Fund will support mentoring programs in the northern six municipalities of York Region, including one-to-one mentoring, Go Girls, and Game On programs.
Blue Door focuses on addressing the root causes of homelessness, with a mission of enabling housing stability by driving innovative housing, health, and employment solutions that prevent and end homelessness.
Blue Door is committed to addressing local needs, and proceeds from the Magna Community Fund will go towards the redevelopment of Kevin’s Place, a 14-unit townhouse development to support families and individuals as they transition out of homelessness.
Clarico Place of York Region Inc. has a mission to empower individuals with disabilities/exceptionalities to thrive and be the best version of themselves through tailored and inclusive day programs that support each of their participants’ needs.
Clarico Place will use the Magna Community Fund to create their Inclusive Connections program, which will develop an app to foster safe and inclusive interactions for people with disabilities/exceptionalities.
Cornerstone to Recovery serves those experiencing or impacted by addiction and mental health issues using a holistic, client-centered approach to meet individualized needs. They emphasize community and connection as a means of healing to meet their core values of compassion, humility, integrity, and service.
Funding from the Magna Community Fund will help their research-backed Wellness Centre programs, the first of its kind in Canada.
Margaret Bahen Hospice stands as the sole residential hospice dedicated to serving families across York Region. Their mission is to provide comprehensive, round-the-clock palliative care for individuals and their families as they navigate the end-of-life journey.
The Magna Community Fund will help Margaret Bahen Hospice enable their hospices to sustain and enhance the comprehensive care they provide, including the operation of Doane House Hospice.
Shine Through the Rain Foundation aims to help individuals and families affected by life-threatening illness, working hard to improve the lives of those in their time of need. They support adults, children, and families from all walks of life, providing advice, guidance, and financial support.
Shine Through the Rain will use the Magna Community Fund to continue responding to urgent needs in the community, supporting families in times of crisis.
Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers provides free supportive programs and educational services to prenatal and parenting youth mothers. Their mission is to empower young mothers to embrace their strengths and support the future they envision for themselves and their children.
Proceeds from the Magna Community Fund will help finance Rose of Sharon’s free “Living & Learning Together in the Kitchen – Food Insecurity Program” for local marginalized young families living in York Region.
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Bank is a completely volunteer-run organization that provides vital food assistance to residents facing insecurity. They distribute food while maintaining a welcoming and judgement-free environment.
They will use the Magna Community Fund to support new and existing programs, including the Children’s Snacks Program, a Period Health Initiative to provide clients with feminine hygiene products, and an initiative to stock culturally appropriate food items to support our multicultural community.
Women’s Support Network of York Region (WSN) is a community-based sexual violence support centre in York region. They are dedicated to providing free, non-judgmental, confidential support for anyone who has experienced sexual violence in their lifetime.
WSN will use funding to expand counselling services and enhance their psychoeducational circle programs in response to the increased demand for these programs.
